Company Members Support CCfCE

Company Members play an active part in supporting the development of the Centre through:

• Participation with Professor Ian Bruce and his colleagues in a Formation Group, which reviews and progresses the development of services. The members currently engaged are the Master, Barrie Collins, Third Warden William Barnard, past Master Patrick McHugh, John McLean Fox, Allan Williams and Chair of the Charities Committee, Gareth Rees.

• Participation in The City Centre for Charity Effectiveness Trust Ltd, a charity limited by guarantee, set up to support fundraising for The Centre. Current Company nominated Trustees are Patrick McHugh (Trust Chair), Barrie Collins (Honorary Treasurer), John McLean Fox (Secretary) and Gareth Rees.

• Fundraising – supporting Professor Ian Bruce in identifying and pursuing fundraising initiatives

• Providing advice and practical support in numerous ways, for example in website develop-ment, marketing/branding and business planning and the development of short courses.

Reports on all of these activities are made regularly to the Court of Assistants and the Wardens

Ongoing roles for Company Members

Company Members who are keen to engage with the Centre are most welcome to offer their services in any of the following ways, as may be agreed.

• Giving time as pro bono or part- paid consultants to ongoing consultancy projects

• Offering effort into current marketing activities and the preparation of proposals

• Acting as mentors for the Centre’s soon-to-be-launched mentoring service

• Developing relationships with prospective client charities, especially those already known to the Member

‘Giving and Gaining’ through the Company with the Centre for Charity Effectiveness.

Members of the Company are encouraged to nominate themselves for any of the activities with the Centre, as listed under Ongoing roles for Company Members .

Working with the Centre for Charity Effectiveness is a way of ‘Giving and Gaining’ that directly supports one of the Company’s most important current goals. That is, to assure the solid foundations of the Centre and its durability and success into the long-term future.
