Corporate Governance in the City

The Master has been working with the Lord Mayor on his wish to restore the credibility of the City of London. The attached speech (PDF) of 30 March 2010 outlines the position so far and I hope that members of the Company will join the debate on the Company's LinkedIn forum. We are taking this initiative forward in four ways: Fourth Warden Ed Sankey is our new representative on the Financial Services Group in the Livery and will test our thoughts with theirs Past Master Patrick McHugh and Assistant Richard Finn are working on exciting new developments about reconsidering the links between consumers and retail bankers and the wider ramifications of community initiatives in an impoverished economy Freeman Chizu Nakajima and Professor Paul Palmer of Cass Business School are building with this work as they redevelop the Centre For Charitable Effectiveness into a major part of the School.
