Professor R "Bob"
Garratt was installed as the fifteenth Master of the
Worshipful Company of Management Consultants on 15 October
2009 at a dinner at Skinners' Hall, London. Professor Garratt
has an international practice, working with his wife Sally,
on board development and appraisal, corporate governance,
strategic thinking and organisational learning and change.
He is a Visiting Professor at Cass Business School, London,
and Professor Extraordinaire at the University of
Stellenbosch Business School where he is Chairman of the
Unit for Corporate Governance in Africa. He helped create
the first EEC-Chinese MBA Programme in Beijing in 1984, the
ASEAN-EU Management Centre in Brunei Darussalam in 1992, and
the Commonwealth Association for Corporate Governance in
1996. He has worked in the private and public sectors in
many countries, especially in Australasia and Africa and
worked at international level with the International
Monetary Fund in Washington, the Saudi Arabian Monetary
Authority, and the Public Investment Corporation of South
Africa. His books include
