The excitement over the Installation Dinner to be held on 15 October is growing by the day; and I am delighted to be able to inform you that it has now been confirmed that amongst the Company’s official guests will be that guru for all management consultants: Charles Handy. But wait, there is more: another official guest will be Lord Cunliffe of the British Consultants Bureau and Goldsmiths’ Company.

I am delighted to be able to inform you that this year the Installation Dinner will be held on Thursday, 15^th October in Skinners’ Hall, 8 Dowgate Hill London EC4R 2SP when the Guest of Honour will be the Rt. Hon Michael Portillo.

The evening begins at 18:15 when we will be admitting a new member to the Company. That will be followed by the Installation of the new Master, Professor Bob Garratt, and Wardens, and the admittance of the new Court Assistants; and Member’s guests are very welcome to witness the ceremonials. We will all, probably, be feeling slightly thirsty after all of that and so the Champagne Reception will begin at 19:00 with dinner being served at 19:30.

The dress Code is ‘black tie’ and the price of tickets, Member or guest, will, thanks to a generous anonymous sponsor, be £86.25 each, including VAT. Given the fame of our Guest of Honour and the thought of such a glittering occasion in a magnificent Hall, I am sure that tickets will go fast; so please do not delay in requesting tickets from me: the maximum number we can accommodate is 140.

Please note that there will be two variations to our normal procedures this year:

1. Due to advice we have received concerning the risk of swine flu, the ‘Loving Cup’ ceremony will not be performed; and

2. At the express request of the Master Elect, we will be seated at round tables. Therefore please indicate if you would like to sit with particular Members, or why not form a party of 8 or 10?
