How about an evening tasting Member’s
favourite wines, with the opportunity to buy a
few bottles for your own cellar, rounded off by
an excellent wine experience dinner served in
the elegant setting of the Inns of Court & City
Yeomanry Officers Mess? Intrigued?
Then read on!
The evening begins with a tasting based on the tradition
of La Paulée de Meursault. La Paulée is held every year,
following the famous Hospices de Beaune charity auction of
fine wines, and is an opportunity for local winemakers to
bring along a few bottles of choice wine to share with
friends.
Our Livery Paulée is designed to provide you the
opportunity to share the favourite wines of twelve of your
fellow Members. Each wine being offered at one of the 12
tables available.
Then, in the Hospices de Beaune tradition, you will be
invited to participate in a silent auction of each of the
wines tasted. A special prize is to be awarded to the table
raising the most money for their Member’s chosen wine!
During dinner you will have the opportunity to taste 3
further excellent wines each being introduced by an expert and
carefully matched to the menu.
The evening will end with a live auction of a few
bottles of very special wines donated for the occasion and the
announcement of the winners of the silent auction. Both
auctions being in aid of the Company’s Charitable Fund and
thus of the various charities we support. Payment by cheque or
in cash, please.
Tables of six are priced at £540.00 including VAT and a
donation to the Company’s Charitable Fund. Single
tickets are also available and will be allocated a table with
other individual applicants by the Clerk, who will also
nominate a table organiser. Individual tickets are
priced at £90.00 each including VAT and a donation to the
Company’s Charitable Fund.
Paulée Details: Each table
organiser will be asked to provide six bottles of a favourite
wine. Three will be used for tasting and three entered in the
silent auction. Further information for table organizers will
