WCOMC PROFESSIONAL NETWORK 18 MARCH 2010

The second meeting, using the trial format, was held in the Cheshire Cheese on 18 March 2010 starting at 1730 for 1800 hours with the formal proceedings finished by 2000 hours.

Selected members gave, at the start of the evening, a 3 minute talk about their current business and where it is taking them. They were, in no order of precedence:

            Doug PRIOR

            Patrick CHAPMAN

            David PERIGINE-JONES

The main speaker of the evening was Graham KENNEDY who took on the challenging task of giving his views on:

Helping return the UK economy to sustainable growth

One of the government’s top economic priorities is to return the UK economy to sustainable growth.  And since November 2008, a plethora of initiatives has been announced to help achieve this.  In his humble (sic)  opinion (which is based on credible research), the current economic climate is presenting large public sector focused suppliers with a significant opportunity to help the government overcome this challenge, which could result in their share price outperforming that of their peers by somewhere in the region of 25% to 40%.

Graham is well known to the Professional Network. He has worked in the management consultancy profession for over 20 years, 15 years of which were spent with Andersen Consulting, and over 4 years with A.T. Kearney.  In his career to date, he has always made a significant contribution to major business change projects and programmes, and has received several commendations from clients for his efforts.  His area of expertise is helping public sector focused IT service providers increase their effectiveness and efficiency, with a current focus on helping them make their propositions more compelling to their clients.  He has been operating his own consultancy, Alexoria, since 2005.

He would shared this market opportunity in strict confidence with members of the WCoMC Professional Networking group, and briefly discussed how consultants might help large public sector focused suppliers capitalise on it.
