Most of my career has been as a management consultant working in
large firms – firstly Ernst & Young and subsequently Accenture.
I have been a freelance consultant for the last ten
years, but still work with Accenture, primarily in the public
sector.
With a background in Operational Research, my consultancy work
has always had a strong element of analysis and evidence-based
conclusions and recommendations. Over the
last three decades, I have led major studies on organisation,
strategy, performance management, process redesign, information
technology and other functional areas – for most central
government departments and in the NHS, local government and the
police service.
I am a founder member of the Company, having been involved in
the formation of the Guild and then in the first wave of
Liverymen. In addition to attending many
social and fundraising events, I have been involved extensively
in the pro-bono activities of the Company, undertaking some
mentoring assignments, a number of consultancy assignments, and
more recently as a member of the pro-bono consultancy panel.
Currently I lead our relationship with the Impetus Trust,
which supports a portfolio of charities for which Company
members have undertaken a number of pro-bono assignments.
I have also facilitated the development of a new Strategy for
the Company for the period 2010-15.
