Background and Experience
Keith R Stevens
is the co-founder and Managing Director of
Amwell Consultancy and Training Ltd. (ACT),
which specialises in consultancy and interim
management services to the sports, arts and
leisure industries. He also advises local
councils on various funding regimes including
PFI, PPP, Big Lottery Fund and the EU.
His clients include local
authorities from around the UK, as well as a
number of major private companies and the
voluntary sector.
Keith was formerly a
Corporate Strategic Director with two of the
London Boroughs, before entering consultancy in
1995. His roles in local government
spanned education (where he was an Education
Inspector), Leisure (where he was a Strategic
Director) and Economic Development and
Regeneration (where he co-led the Authority’s
strategy in this area, attracting significant
European funding to the Lea Valley area of North
and East London).
Keith is currently
Chairman of the Board of Corporation of a large
FE College and a Community Stakeholder on the
East of England Regional Assembly. He was
made a Freeman of the City of London in 2000.
He has also been actively involved with
Committee work on the Chartered Institute of
Marketing, Chartered Management Institute,
Chartered Institute of Personnel and
Development, the Institute of Leisure and
Amenity Management and the Chartered Institute
of Library and Information Professionals.
Keith has a first degree
from the University of London, two Masters
degrees – in Employment Law and Consultancy –
and 4 other postgraduate diplomas.
Involvement
with the WCoMC
Since joining the (then)
Company, Keith has served both on the Wine
Committee (someone has to do it!!) and the
Ceremonials Committee, which was heavily
involved in the planning of the route to
Livery Company status. Keith was one of
the Founder Liverymen and is keenly involved in
the Worshipful Company’s activities.
Keith has been pleased to
be involved with the Company’s Mentoring Scheme,
which is of immense value to both the mentor and
the mentee.
