Patrick Chapman - Assistant

I have been involved with The Company for a number of years since being President of the IMC; in that role I was an ex-officio member of The Court for some 18 months.  In June 2007 I became a freeman of The Company and then, in May 2008, a liveryman.

I have been providing consultancy advice to charities, large and small, since 1981 and intend to continue this for the foreseeable future.  When The Company reorganised the Charities Committee early in 2008, I was invited to chair the new Pro Bono Consultancy Services Panel as this played to my strengths of both consulting and operational resourcing.

Quite simply, my aim is to raise the profile and reach of our Pro Bono Consultancy Services and through this raise our membership and ultimately the level of our charitable fund.  I believe our charitable work is one of the most fundamental reasons for The Company’s existence.

Personal Background

“I specialise in the preparation of realistic strategic plans at both business and operational levels, using my practical knowledge of business transformation and process improvement to follow them through to successful implementation.  I have advised and worked with a wide cross-section of organisations in the Private and Public Sectors ranging from major plcs to small private businesses particularly those in the service and manufacturing industries, local and central government departments, and many of the UK’s leading Not-for-Profit organisations.  I am a Certified Management Consultant, a Fellow and past President of the Institute of Business Consulting, and a Liveryman of the Worshipful Company of Management Consultants.  I have Honours and Masters degrees in Computer Science from the University of Cambridge.

“I have considerable hands-on consulting experience, rising to Sector Director and then Operations and Resourcing Director for a leading independent consulting practice, Cornwell Management Consultants plc, before it was acquired by an international services firm.  Prior to that I was responsible for establishing and leading the systems consultancy team for Price Waterhouse’s new regional office in St. Albans, and managing the largest systems consulting team for Ernst & Young (formerly Arthur Young) in London.  My work has regularly focused on helping clients define and specify process, information and systems requirements, and then supporting them through their realisation.”
