William Barnard MA FCA

William read Mechanical Sciences at Cambridge and then qualified
as a Chartered Accountant with Arthur Andersen & Co in London.
He moved into
Management Consultancy in 1967 and joined a major
transformational project involving the pioneering implementation
of integrated operating systems using tape-based computer
systems. During his subsequent 30-year career with the firm now
known as Accenture he enjoyed a wide range of roles based in the
UK, Canada and France, increasingly focussed on strategy
formulation and implementation for large multi-nationals and
management of various parts of the international practice.
William was a Founding Member of the Guild in 1993 and part of
the first Court of Assistants. He resigned from the Court after
moving to Paris in 1994 and rejoined it in 2000.
William and his wife
Maureen divide their time between London and Provence. His son
Adam is a theatre director.
