As you will appreciate, for a membership organisation such as the Company, increasing membership numbers is essential to its existence; survival even. But the formality/cost of bringing potential members to a Company event may have discouraged you from trying to act as a recruiting officer. Fear not; help is at hand! To encourage you to introduce the Company to potential new members, an additional event has been arranged in the form of an informal Summer Reception on Tuesday, 6th July 2010 at the Old Doctor Butler’s Head, 2 Mason’s Avenue (off Coleman Street) EC2V 5BT. We have booked the top floor of the pub- two flights of steep stairs to be negotiated- which dates from the Great Fire, and the nearest tube station is Bank. Red, white and rose wines will be served from 1830, with a hot and cold buffet served at 1915; and proceedings coming to a close at 2045. I hope that the price for the evening will be £27.00, including VAT, subject to nothing really nasty being announced by the Chancellor on 22 June. However, as this event is primarily a recruitment drive, the Master has generously agreed to meet the costs of all potential members attending the evening. Therefore you can introduce someone to the Company at no cost to yourself. I am sure that you will appreciate that due to space limitations, and the intended nature of the evening, only Members and potential new members may attend on this occasion; i.e. no partners/relatives/friends unless they are genuinely, potential new members. So for an opportunity to help ‘sell’ the Company, and have a very enjoyable evening, please send booking requests to me as soon as possible.
