"Going Down, Anyone? ...."

Lord Mayor's Abseil Challenge - St Lawrence Jewry

Assistant Graham Kennedy will be abseiling 94 feet down the side of St Lawrence Jewry building on 20 May in aid of the Lord Mayor’s two main charities for 2016 – providing support to young people across the UK through transformational nautical adventure, team building and training; and crucial research into finding a cure for Type 1 diabetes.

Graham will be going up the narrow spiral staircase with 69 other participants to the clock tower of the building where a team of experts will be on hand to guide them through their paces!

St Lawrence Jewry is the official church of the Lord Mayor and the City of London Corporation, thought to have been built in 1136, but burnt down in 1666 in the Great Fire of London.  Sir Christopher Wren redesigned and rebuilt it between 1670 and 1677.

This is a unique opportunity to do something fun (and not altogether too daunting) at an historic building, and raise money for some terrific causes at the same time.

Please support Graham, as every penny raised over £500 will be matched by The Worshipful Company of Grocers’ Charity.  Here’s how to give:
