Faith Group Event: What Unites Two Ancient Faiths in a Modern World?

Join us for an open and thoughtful conversation exploring the shared values, traditions and questions that connect Christianity and Islam today.

Our next Faith Group event will take place on Thursday 8 October via Zoom. At a time when global conflicts and social challenges can make religious difference feel divisive, this event offers a positive opportunity to listen, learn and reflect on what Christians and Muslims may share — and how interfaith understanding can help build stronger relationships.

We are delighted to welcome three distinguished Christian and Muslim contributors who will share insights from research, teaching, dialogue and personal experience.

Our main speaker will be Richard McCallum from The Oxford Centre for Muslim-Christian Studies, which brings Christians and Muslims together to explore their traditions through discussion, research and teaching. Richard will introduce the Centre and describe its work, including its seminars and wider programme of engagement.

Dr Mohammed Gamal Abdelnour and Joy Hadden, who attend the Centre, will then share their own stories and explain what has drawn them to this important area of interfaith learning.

There will be plenty of time for questions and discussion. Whether you come with a faith perspective, a professional interest in leadership and society, or simply a curiosity about how people of different traditions can understand one another better, you will be very welcome.
