Our Priorities for My Year 2026-2027 – Your Input is Needed!

One of my key strategic priorities, as I set out in my speech at the Installation Dinner, is for us to raise our voice and profile further within the City of London.  You could say “to put the ‘City’ back into our title as a “(City) Livery Company”. I know I need your help in doing this – and probably you equally want to know what this really means in practice!

The “New Master’s Reception” is the first opportunity for Members to meet with me, if they wish, in an informal setting at the Guildhall to focus on the direction for the Company for the year ahead. It certainly will be a joint endeavour, giving you an ideal opportunity to add your expertise and challenge to the priorities for our work.  So please come along!

We are a happy and successful Modern Livery Company, building our links within the City of London and beyond. We have built a reputation for Philanthropy through our successful Pro Bono support. We have built a reputation for our Educational support through The Sheriffs’ Challenge and the Livery Schools Link and Showcase (“what are all they?” I hear you ask). So what can, and should, we do better to raise our profile further? Does it matter?

I believe profoundly that it does matter. We know we are not just a group of consultants “doing good”.  We are part of the City Livery and we can add our broad expertise and voice to that of the other Companies and also to the Lord Mayor and Aldermen.  There is more we can do.  We need to use our considerable connections and touch points to the best mutual benefit.  What is the best way to achieve this?

So this is why I am asking you to come to the Admission Ceremony and Reception – as well as giving you the opportunity to network with fellow members.
