The Music Interest Group ..........

Festival of St Cecilia 2014......  and notice re Ronnie Scotts in 2015....!

The Company’s presence at this year’s festival was organized by courtesy of the Music Interest Group. WCoMC was one of 26 Livery Companies attending and took part in a colourful procession into the Cathedral.

The service is to celebrate music and musicians and is held to raise funds for ‘Help Musicians UK’.  Rotating annually between Westminster Abbey, Westminster Cathedral and St Paul’s Cathedral this year's event was at Westminster Cathedral.

The combined choirs of all three churches produced a heavenly sound, the choir stalls high behind the altar providing excellent acoustics. The second of the three motets with music by Cheryl Frances- Hoad, commissioned by ‘Help Musicians UK ‘ to the words of Psalm 6 ‘ O Lord, rebuke me not ‘ being particularly memorable.

Following the service the Master and his wife, Ann, together with members of the Livery and guests, dined happily at Le Pain Quotidien.

ACTIONS !!!

Next year, when at St Paul’s Cathedral, we will repeat this format of a celebration of ........

Music and Musicians, support for ‘Help Musicians UK’ and then the relaxed bonhomie occasioned by members lunching together.
