Education
Our Company’s work in education is organised under a theme of lifelong learning for consultants and our intent is: "To enrich the lives of consultants and those with an interest in the profession by encouraging and enabling continuous learning and development."
We have three main areas of focus:
The Centre for Management Consulting Excellence (CMCE)
CMCE is our recognised open and collaborative professional community for the sharing and evaluation of current and emerging practices in management consulting. Through the Centre we carry out research into consulting practice and celebrate academic research through our CMCE Research Awards, held every two years. We organise regular online and face-to-face events to share practice and discuss new ideas.
Routes into consulting
We are keen to raise awareness of the consulting profession for those who might at some point consider it as a career. To this end we participate in the Livery Schools Showcase and the Sheriffs’ Challenge where we can illustrate aspects of consulting skills such as problem solving and presenting an argument. We also plan to look at how we might support other entry points into the profession e.g. for those considering moving into consulting from a senior management role.
Enriching our lives
We organise events to promote wider knowledge sharing amongst members. Our Shoptalk informal networking events are an example of these, whereas our Education Supper provides the annual formal event to celebrate our work in education.
Research & Innovation
As well as publishing our own research via the CMCE, we award the Urwick Prize for outstanding research or thought leadership at our annual Education Supper.
