The City glitterati gather at Barbican

Sheriff Alderman Sir Paul Judge arranged the Livery Concert occasion on Sunday 22 June. The London Symphony Orchestra played under Conductor Fabio Luisi.

Although it was Sunday the Concert Hall was very full. The Livery party were together in the front rows of the Dress Circle. The Lord Mayor was flanked by Masters and their partners, including Edward and Karen, and Liverymen from many Companies. It was a great demonstration of the Livery’s support for Music in the City.

The Lord Mayor made a short speech at the interval and emphasised the internationally leading position of London as a cultural centre of the highest standards. The Corporation of London supports the Arts and The Livery Companies are leading supporters of music in the City. The ticket price for the Livery Party included a charitable contribution.

Survey after survey show that London is one of the top three cities worldwide in which to live, work and play.
