Mansion House Banquet 25th April 2017
Mansion House Banquet in the presence
of The Lord Mayor and Sheriff
It is always an honour for a Livery Company to host a dinner at Mansion House. For WCoMC it is a particular honour as this is our first formal banquet at Mansion House and we will be in the presence of Honorary Liveryman The Rt. Hon. The Lord Mayor Alderman Dr Andrew Parmley and the Lady Mayoress together with Sheriff Alderman Peter Estlin and his wife Lindy. We are also welcoming Nikos Mourkogiannis, author of Purpose: The Starting Point of Great Companies, as our guest speaker for the evening. Nikos will be speaking on the purpose of organisations with a particular focus on Modern Livery Companies.
It is now a couple of years since WCoMC was last hosting an event at Mansion House, so this is a special opportunity for us to invite guests - both personal and professional - and join with fellow members and their guests to enjoy the evening and appreciate the magnificent rooms and decor of this unique place, as well as the sculptures, the gold and silver plate, and collection of Dutch and Flemish Paintings displayed there.
The Salon, which will be the heart of the reception before dinner, and The Egyptian Hall, where we shall dine, are quite stunning and we encourage you to take some time looking around - particularly in The Long Parlour and Drawing Rooms where much of the art collection is displayed. Also look up at the chandeliers, which are considered to be unmatched by the skilled craftsmen who clean and maintain them.
