World Heart Beat - When Music meets with Consultancy

This in-person event in the “My Most Interesting…” series gives you a chance not only to hear about a project from Nick Bush, but also to experience first hand its main deliverable: World Heart Beat’s concert and education venue in Nine Elms. The World Heart Beat Academy now welcomes over 350 students each week to learn and play in ensembles of all music forms - typically jazz, orchestra and gig bands.

When his son made an off-hand comment back in 2017 that his father should “be the jazz club you want to see in the world” Nick Bush didn’t realise that it would prefigure a five-year project to create a jazz club/recital room/rock-and-roll venue and music academy for a cause dear to his heart.

Nick’s talk will describe his role in the project from initial bid to opening night and discuss some of the challenges of shifting roles between committee chair, trustee and change advisor.

This talk, which is open to members and their guests, will be relevant for anyone working with charities or educational bodies or anyone who loves great music and wants it to thrive.

We’ve put together a package that includes Nick's talk and access to an exclusive balcony area where we can watch and listen to classical guitarist Jack Hancher in concert. The price includes a sandwich buffet and tea/coffee. If you want just to come to the talk and buffet, that’s also possible.
