Education Supper 2025
Are we defined and constrained by our Generations?
Depending on when we were born, we are in a particular generational group, most likely: Baby Boomers, Gen X, Millennials, Gen Z and Gen Alpha. These groups are often wrongly used as a shorthand for defining different behaviours between generations, as they carry with them a whole bunch of often incorrect assumptions about people’s capabilities, behaviours and prejudices.
These assumptions regularly get in the way of our ability to learn from each other and address the business and societal challenges we are all facing in the world today.
That’s the premise of Patrick Dunne and Rebecca Robins’ book Five Generations at Work: How We Win Together For Good and we are delighted to welcome Professor Dunne as the guest speaker at this year's Education Supper. He will be joined by Ted Easthaugh, Chair of the Young Management Consultants Association for an early evening discussion about the ideas and examples set out in the book. We will then continue discussions over a three-course supper with wines from the Company Cellar in the delightful surroundings of Bakers’ Hall.
The evening will begin at 6pm with an Admissions Ceremony and we will then pick up a drink before we hear from our two speakers, with supper and further discussion to follow. The event will finish at 10.00pm.
Participants will also be able to purchase in advance, for the special price of £12.50, a copy of Five Generations at Work: How We Win Together For Good, personally signed by Patrick at the supper.
