New Master's Reception 2025
New Master's Reception - An Event of Two Halves
Admissions Ceremony with a Reception (6.00pm to about 7.15pm)
This is Malcolm McCaig's first formal Company event since his installation in October and it is the first Admissions Ceremony for several months owing to the summer break. It marks an important step forward in our initiative to grow our membership and welcome new members into our Company. Your presence will therefore make a real difference — helping our new members feel the warmth and fellowship that is one of the key pillars of WCoMC. Whether you are an existing member or a prospective member, see how as a modern Company we follow the Livery traditions, yet with our unique interpretations.
Following the ceremony, there will be a short drinks reception, which Malcolm is hosting to mark the start of his year as Master. The only price of admission for your complimentary drink is your attendance at the ceremony itself, and in extending a warm welcome to those new members joining us!
Getting Stuff Done (starting around 7.15pm ending by 9.00pm)
After the short reception closes, we will reach the moment where we, as committed members of WCoMC, and our visitors and guests will come together to shape our future and turn ambition into action. Our Company has big aspirations, never more so than in the year ahead, and this is a working buffet supper for all participants to help contribute to this.
Our aim is to forge the plans and commitments outlined by Malcolm, for example to:
- Energise our fellowship: building a stronger, more engaged community, enhancing the way we connect and collaborate
- Raise our profile in the City and wider still: making sure our voice is heard and we are known for our valued contributions
- Grow and sustain our membership: to ensure a sustainable future for the Company.
You will hear about the progress we are making to:
- Streamline our governance: ensuring we work smarter, faster, and with greater clarity
- Improve our oversight and forward planning: on key performance metrics and future activities
- Complete our IT upgrade: modernising and stabilising our supporting digital infrastructure.
And in the 'round table sessions' over supper, you will have the opportunity to contribute ideas for our Philanthropy and Education:
- Developing the full potential of our pro bono capability: extending the positive impact we deliver to the NonProfit (third) Sector
- Promoting the Centre for Management Consulting Excellence: showcasing our thought leadership and support for professional development.
This will be an open forum where every voice counts, every idea matters, and everyone helps to play their part in making things happen.
We look forward to meeting you there, whether it’s to catch up with old friends and acquaintances, or to get to know you and welcome you to the Company – over a light working buffet and a selection of wine from the Company’s own cellar.
