2026 Urwick Lecture: Let Ethics Be Your Moral Compass
Please join us online at 9am on Thursday 2 July when Professor Alan Blackman will deliver the 2026 Urwick Lecture.

Alan Blackman’s paper “Let Ethics Be Your Moral Compass” is the 2026 winner of the Urwick Award and Cup awarded for an outstanding piece of research or thought leadership, published in the previous two years, relevant to management consultancy.
The paper emphasises the importance of ethical behaviour and analyses a number of high-profile failures by professional services firms to act ethically. Based on this analysis, it provides a framework that management consultants can use to question themselves whether they are acting ethically.
Alan Blackman has had a long association with Griffith Business School in South-East Queensland, Australia. He taught Business Strategy as part of the School's MBA program from 1993 to 2011, was Acting Director from September 2011 to April 2012, and from 2012 to 2018 was Director of the School's Work Integrated Learning programme. From 2021 until 2025, he served as an elected director of the International Council of Management Consulting Institutes. He has had four books published and numerous scholarly papers.
