Rethinking Reputational Risk
In spite of advances in risk management, our media headlines continue to be populated with corporate disasters. Recent examples include Volkswagen, Tesco, BP, Barclays, Uber, Equifax, G4S, Ryanair, Bell Pottinger and more.
For the inaugural Technical Symposium of the newly formed Centre for Management Consulting Excellence, we are pleased to welcome Anthony Fitzsimmons. He is the chairman of Reputability LLP, which helps organisations to find and manage reputational risks and their unrecognised drivers. Anthony is a recognised expert on the subject, as well as the co-author of the book “Rethinking Reputational Risk”, released in January 2017.
In his lecture, Anthony will tackle the key question “Why do seemingly well-respected organisations unexpectedly fail?” It has taken decades and scores of case studies to disentangle the subject, but he believes the answer to this question is now clear. Anthony will explain:
- the nature of 'reputation' and 'reputational risk';
- why the seemingly sound catastrophically collapse;
- what drives reputational risk;
- why these drivers are hard to find, and
- the crucial roles of leaders and consultants.
The lecture is kindly being hosted by Coventry University at their London campus. Advance booking is essential as the event is likely to be very popular. Doors will be open from 6.00pm and light refreshments will be available. The lecture is scheduled to start at 6.30 pm. There will also be further refreshments afterwards, which will give everyone the opportunity for networking and informal discussions with Anthony. There is a small charge to cover the cost of refreshments.
