Our seventh Virtual Wine and Food Tasting

For our Sicilian evening, we have this offer that you cannot refuse. We are recommending a couple of wines from Mount Etna - Bianco and Rosso - giving participants choices rather than "holding a gun to their heads"! The two wines are from the same producer:

• Le Sabbie dell'Etna Bianco (currently £10.99): this wine, a blend of Carricante and Catarratto grapes that are indigenous to Sicily (12.5%), the former often referred to as Etna Bianco. It is a dry fragrant wine offering fruity notes of white peach and pear.
• Le Sabbie dell'Etna Rosso (currently £10.99): this wine is a blend of two local grapes, Nerello Mascalese and Nerello Cappuccio, that together produce a wine (13.8%) that is almost like a Pinot Noir in colour and texture, with wonderful currant and berry fruit notes.

Both these wines can be sourced from Waitrose Cellar (ie www.waitrosecellar.com). They should also be available in their stores (and at www.waitrose.com), but their stock levels are often lower.

We have matched these wines to classic Sicilian snacks for the tasting and food that should inspire participants to prepare a classic dinner at their leisure.

The food and tasting notes will be sent to participants closer to the event, along with joining details, with plenty of time for preparation!
