Grant Assessment Process and Timescale

Funding decisions are made at our quarterly Trustee Meetings, which usually fall in January, April, July, and October.

Stage 1 - Initial Assessment

We check eligibility criteria and broad fit with objectives (Transforming young lives, increasing social impact, and building capacity).  We aim to respond to all applications within two weeks of this initial assessment.

Stage 2 - Second Assessment / Due Diligence

If successful, a Trustee is appointed as a "grant assessor" to conduct detailed checks. This may involve providing documents such as financial statements and project plans. We often help refine and improve the grant request at this stage.  This stage may take several weeks.

Stage 3 - Final Decision

The grant assessor presents a recommendation to the Trustees at a quarterly Board meeting for a final decision. It may take up to three months for a definitive outcome.
