The Trustees (2025/6)

As defined in our Trust Deed, the affairs of the Fund are overseen by the Board of Trustees which combines elected Trustees with the current Master and Wardens as ex-officio Trustees. Every three years the elected Trustees stand for re-election in rotation. Our current Trustees are listed below:

Steve Cant started his career in public transport, qualified as an accountant in 1984 and moved into management consulting in 1990. He was a Director with both PwC and then Capita Consulting, and ran his own Consulting Business (ChangeAgilty Ltd) 2004 - 2023. Steve has wide experience across the private, central and local government sectors. He has worked overseas and spent a year based in France and another year in India. He is also an accredited Gateway Review Team Leader for major projects in the Public sector. Since 2012 he has worked exclusively in the not-for-profit sector on strategy formulation, project and programme management, mainly pro bono. Steve has acted as a Consultant Grant Assessor for “The Fore” on several funding rounds since 2017. He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants, a Certified Management Consultant and Member of the Institute of Logistics and Transport. He has a degree in Economics with Technology and is a Trustee and Treasurer of the Charities IT Association - a charity providing Information Technology help for charities.   Steve is a Past Master (2021-21) and is Chair of the MarComms Committee. He has Chaired the Pro bono Committee.

Geoff Berridge  is a businessman, leader and manager with forty years commercial and public sector experience, managing his own businesses and serving as a director on the boards of public and voluntary sector organisations. He was employed by IBM in several senior roles many of which were about creating new ventures. He set up IBM UK’s Financial Services business, established IBM’s Business School, providing education and training from induction to an MBA programme and the formation of the Consultancy Practice and its offspring the Education Consultancy Business. He was a non-executive director in the NHS. He was chair of the Community Services business in a Primary Care Trust and oversaw the merger of this unit with others into an Integrated Care Organisation. Geoff is a director of two companies working in the education, health, energy and information communication technology sectors. These businesses are involved with technology innovation, the development of software offerings, bringing them to market via business partnerships: business development and the provision of services for clients. He coaches senior executives faced with concerns about strategy, business development and organisational change. Geoff chairs the boards of two London charities and is a trustee and treasurer of the Coram Foundation, the children’s charity. He advises several other charities regarding governance, strategies, finance and leadership.

Alexei Samarenko  is an experienced management consultant. He has worked in the industry for seven years. Having completed a consultancy graduate programme, he has gone on to work advising several of the leading firms in the financial services sector. He specialises in Asset and Wealth management, where he helps clients overcome their challenges, primarily with business transformation and market positioning. He joined the Worshipful Company of Management Consultants in 2024, attracted by the training and experience available via the CMCE, the history and tradition of the City, and the camaraderie of Company events. Alexei holds a degree in Mathematics and Finance with Investment Banking, and qualifications in project management.

Malcolm McCaig has over 20 years management consultancy experience with PwC, Deloitte and EY, as well as founding his own consultancy. In parallel he has held a number of Non-Exec Directorships. He joined the Worshipful Company of Management Consultants in 2014, was clothed a Liveryman in 2015 and joined the Court of Assistants in 2016. He is a member of the Company’s Governance Committee and was elected Fourth Warden in September 2022. His motivation to join the company was twofold: he has always had an interest in education and the development of management consultants; also, he is attracted by ProBono work and the potential to give something back to society. Since joining the Company, he has been pursuing both of these aims. His most notable contributions to the Company have been in the areas of education and development. He was part of the core team working to develop the Centre for Management Consulting Excellence. He has been the Chair of the Education Committee for the past four years and has helped to rejuvenate the work of that Committee. As a result, he has played a leadership role in a number of Company activities, including: the annual Education Supper/Lecture, the LSL Careers Festival, the Sherriff’s Challenge, our representation at LCSC, oversight of the further development of CMCE, and special events such as the “Future of Education” panel discussion. He has organised and facilitated the "My Most Interesting Whatever" virtual workshop programme during the pandemic. Malcolm's interests in the NonProfit Sector have continued to expand, both in the Company as an active mentor and elsewhere. He has recently joined the Advisory Board of the Centre for Charity Effectiveness to represent the Company. Outside the Company he is the Chairman of United Response (one of the UK’s larger charities) as well as an active member of the Association of Chairs and other charity networking forums. 

Collette Stone is a leadership, team and personal development consultant with over 35 years experience in operational, policy and HR roles in the largest departments of the UK civil service. Alongside her public sector career Collette is also a lifelong volunteer, primarily for Girlguiding and Scouting, having held roles at all levels including local leadership for 10 to 15 year old young members through to management and Adviser posts at County, Region and National levels, with leading roles for leader training and promoting international opportunities. She is a Chartered Fellow of CIPD, an MBA and holds an MSc in the use of technology in education. Within the civil service Collette specialised in leadership development, executive coaching for senior civil servants in pivotal roles, Director-General led top team effectiveness, the people aspect of change management and mentoring fast-streamers and junior talent. As a volunteer, in addition to working with the uniformed organisations she also spent more than 20 years as a School Governor for a Special Needs school in NW London and latterly as Trustee on the Board of a seven-site Special Needs Academy. Having left the civil service in early 2022 Collette became an independent consultant, working with Henley Business School as external faculty, with a focus on both the personal development and reputation management aspects of their international MBA programme and, as an experienced Action Learning facilitator, on the MA Leadership, Level 7 Apprenticeship in Leadership and PG Cert programmes. With a long term background in Systemic Coaching she is currently exploring initiatives with the creative industry and as an equine-assisted coach.

Jim Foster has over 40 years management consultancy experience gained with PwC, based in London and New York, and in his own consultancy practice. He joined the Worshipful Company of Management Consultants in 2016, attracted by the opportunity to provide Pro Bono consultancy services to charitable organisations. He joined the Court of Assistants in 2021 and was elected Fourth Warden in 2023. He is a member of the Company’s ProBono, Education and Membership Committees and is responsible for the Company’s military affiliation with RAF 600 Squadron. Since joining the Company, Jim has worked with a number of charities providing a range of services, including advising on strategy, governance, income generation and software selection. He has also been the joint organiser of Pro Bono events aimed at developing a better understanding of the challenges facing charities and how they can best respond to them. Jim has also worked closely with the Company’s Centre for Management Consulting Excellence (CMCE) and became Director of CMCE in January 2024. He has led a long running programme on Excellence in Consulting, authoring two reports on management consultant value and chairing workshops on management consultancy performance. He also takes an active role in organising CMCE’s programme of educational events for management consultants.

Ian White's executive career started as a lawyer, mainly in in-house roles and working his way up to General Counsel/Company Secretary. The bulk of this was spent working for financial services firms. inside and outside the City, but he also spent some time working in retail. Since 2015 he has worked as a management consultant, principally in the area of board effectiveness. He has reviewed boards in all sectors, apart from schools and sporting bodies, ranging from FTSE 100 companies to major charities. He is also qualified as an Executive Coach, Team Coach through Meyler Campbell, and CEDR Accredited Mediator. He joined WCoMC in 2017. He had been interested in joining a Livery Company for some time and WCoMC met both his ideals and values as well as fitting in with his practice as a management consultant. In addition, he teaches at Cranfield University where he is the Course Director for the Non-Executive Director Programme.
